VINEYARD DETAILS

Geographic location: D.O.Apalta / Santa Cruz / Colchagua Valley
Geology / Soil: franc soil with different proportion of granitic rock, sand and clay depending on how close to the hills the block is.
Elevation: 164 mamsl
Climatic conditions: warm summer but fresher autumn and dry autumn, allowing total ripeness with excellent sanitary conditions.
Vine age: 15 years

Harvest date and Tons/Ha.: middle of April / 8-10 ton/ha

 WINEMAKING

Hand harvested; cold maceration for 24 hours; before starting the fermentation a 25% of the juice is removed to enhance the skin contact proportion and concentration of the wine; alcoholic fermentation was done on stainless steel tanks and malolactic fermentation was spontaneous and occurred when wine was already in barrels; third use french oak 500 liters barrels; battonage every 15 days; cold settling before bottling to remove major lees; no filtration at all.

AGING

1 year on french oak barrels (500 liters each / third use); at least 3–4 months in bottle before release it.
